farmers move twice a year, men go up into the mountains with the flocks and then come back. men and women tend to live separately, even if married- women's households have several women and their children. kinda like a walking marriage? Lots of superstition and monsters related to mines small, but able to maintain their independence bc of their placement against the mountains, though they have lost territory as time goes by. theoretically this hegemon thing is helpful, but while they're not thrilled that their older lands aren't returned to them, the system makes it easier for them to maintain their current status quo.
